Brian Monroe – New Admin/Writer/Editor

Brian is on pace to miraculously graduate from Siena College, a much better institution than the one his older brother Brenden graduated from, in May 2017. He could have followed in Brenden’s footsteps and graduated a semester ahead of schedule, but was smart enough to drag out his classes in order to stay in school for as long as possible.

Brian’s mood swings and state of life are generally determined by how the New York Rangers and New York Yankees are playing. He’s also been a Buffalo Bills fan his entire life but has decided, for health purposes, that he couldn’t care less about the organization. Ever since he became dedicated to the NHL season and a real man’s sport, the NBA has become nothing but a fading memory in his mind.

Favorite Sports Memories:

  • Every Rangers playoff run. There’s nothing better than the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
  • Derek Jeter’s final home game. Tears were shed in an empty dorm room.
  • Yankees 2009 World Series Championship.
  • Pitching a complete game in his first ever high school game, throwing only 64 pitches and getting the win.
  • Playing on a town basketball dynasty, winning three championships and multiple all-star games.
  • Winning the UVHL Winter Classic MVP award.

Brenden Monroe – Creator

Brenden graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from SUNY Oneonta in December 2009; He graduated a semester ahead of schedule due to receiving 12 credits out of high school even though he only took enough courses to receive 9. (shhhh don’t tell anyone)

A lifelong Yankee fan, Brenden counteracts that winning by being a Bills and Knicks fan. He believes that Kenny Powers is the greatest athlete of our time and shares Powers’ view that Track is not a sport, since he’s not trying to be the best at exercising.

Favorite Sports Memories:

  • Disobeying his parents orders to go to bed and watching Aaron Boone’s ALCS winning walk-off in 2003.
  • First trip to a Bills game in the fall of 2011, even though the Titans’ Chris Johnson looked like something out of Madden and torched the Bills.
  • When he was 16, he fouled a ball off his foot and screamed out “f*ck!!” during a summer game on community day where there were about 50 kids under the age of ten watching. The town of Beekman hasn’t been the same since.
  • Playing in a Montreal baseball tournament nearly causing a brawl after hitting the batter on purpose.

Robert Peterson-Writer

Rob also graduated from SUNY Oneonta but did so in 2007 and studied Music Industry which would obviously mean that now he wants to be a sports writer. A weird mix of favorite teams have New Yorkers loving him during baseball season (Yankees) and loathing his existence during the rest of the year, that’s just general not because of his team affiliations. (Bruins, Patriots, Ohio State (CFB), Texas A&M (CBB, just kidding I hate basketball.))

Athletic ability comes naturally to Rob who is an avid bowler and beer league softball player.

Favorite Sports Memories:

  • Usain Bolt winning the 100M in the 2008 Beijing Olympics
  • Albert Pujols’ homerun off Brad Lidge in the 2005 NLCS
  • Robinson Cano switching from number 22 to 24
  • Bowling a 300

Matt Lovell-Writer

Matt graduated with a BA in BS….otherwise known as a Bachelors of Arts in History, from Juniata College in 2008. A former DJ and sports talk radio host on Juniata College Radio station Power 92.3 WKVR, Matt has an encyclopedic knowledge of sports history, one that may even be able to challenge the Schwab.

Matt is a glutton for punishment as he tends to root for the most hated teams in their respected sports….that’s right Yankee Baseball, Notre Dame Football, Duke Basketball and even the Red Devils of Manchester United in the EPL.

Favorite Sports Memories:

  • My old man waking me up to see the end of 1998 World Series game 1…Tino’s game winning Grand Slam in the 7th·
  • Aaron F’n Boone..nuff said
  • Landon Donovan’s 2010 WC goal to beat Algeria
  • Dan Marino’s fake spike td vs the Jets….(JETS SUCK)

Mitch Petanick-Writer

Mitch enjoys long walks on the beach and…wait, what???  Wrong website.  Mitch graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in 2000, and is a self proclaimed genius.   He is a Mets, Jets, and Knicks fan which means he is miserable all year round.  Being a Devils fan has been his saving grace through the years.  In his old age, he is also starting to enjoy soccer more and more.

Favorite Sports Memories:

  •  Mookie Wilson’s ground ball going through Bill Buckner’s legs in 1986 World Series
  • The first time he dunked a basketball (junior in high school)
  • Joe Namath telling Suzy Kolber he wanted to kiss her (was at the game)
  • Michael Jordan retiring from basketball to become a minor league baseball player
